The founder of the Vose Law Firm, Gretchen R. H. “Becky” Vose, graduated as valedictorian from her law school class at University of Florida in 1973, where she was Chairperson of the Council of Ten, President of the senior class, member of Order of the Coif, and on the board of the University of Florida Law Review. Ms. Vose began her legal career as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Orlando, representing that city in litigation, land use, election law and eminent domain jury trial matters. After leaving city employment, Ms. Vose began representing numerous local and international individual and corporate clients as well as numerous local governmental entities. Ms. Vose’s legal services were much in demand, and she was requested in 1980 by Shutts & Bowen, the oldest law firm in Miami, and a firm with over 100 lawyers, to open the Orlando branch of that law firm. After practicing law as a full equity partner with Shutts & Bowen for ten years, and growing the Orlando branch office to approximately 25 attorneys, Ms. Vose chose to leave the firm in 1990 and open up her own firm at the corner of I-4 and Fairbanks Avenue in Winter Park. The firm she founded is the predecessor firm to the Vose Law Firm.
